3 QUICK NEWS BITS ⏲️
Where the Corn Grows Next Door

East Orlando is getting a new neighbor, and it comes with a harvest schedule.

Just off State Road 50, workers are breaking ground on more than 2,100 homes surrounding rows of vegetables already pushing through the Florida soil.

Just off State Road 50, workers are breaking ground on more than 2,100 homes surrounding rows of vegetables already pushing through the Florida soil.

The development is called The Grow, Orlando's first master-planned agrihood, where life moves at the speed of the seasons and modern farmhouse-style homes come with kitchens built for gathering.

Nine acres are dedicated to farming, 300 to conservation. A farm store, outdoor markets, and a resident share program round out the experience.

Fresh air, fresh food, fresh zip code.

Parramore Arts Is Parked Outside, Come Find It

Tonight, Parramore Arts is pulling up to the West Church Corridor, literally, and you don't want to miss it.

From 5–8 p.m. at Interstruct Design + Build (814 W. Church Street), Angelo the Artiste's CONNECTION opens in ArtCube and stays on view through July: a multimedia installation where a half-human, half-robot figure hangs mid-assembly, asking big questions about healing, identity, and what it means to be built and rebuilt.

Then step outside, where curator Damany Cruikshank has handed four U-Haul trucks to Roberto Sébastien, Dessary Francis, Robb Johnson, and Ishaan Vadhera, one night, four debuts, zero excuses.

Show up tonight. The trucks don't stay parked forever.

Orlando's Oldest Lakeside Home Just Found Its Cavalry

A nearly century-old Mediterranean gem on Lake Eola isn't going down without a fight, and it just recruited a heavyweight ally.

The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation has named the 1927 Lubbe House to its 2026 "Florida's 11 to Save" list, shining a statewide spotlight on the threatened downtown Orlando landmark.

The timing carries a delicious irony: just weeks earlier, Orlando's City Commission voted 6-1 to deny the home landmark status, worried about renovation costs.

Preservationists fire back that the designation would actually unlock grant funding. Round two is coming.

🏠 Here’s a deep-dive on the Lubbe House history, right here.
