3 QUICK NEWS BITS ⏲️
Don't Sleep on the Primary
If you haven’t already, a reminder that early voting in Orange County is open, but the clock is ticking.
With 27 locations open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. through this Sunday, August 16th, you can walk into any site countywide, no matter your assigned precinct.
From the Winter Park Library to the brand-new Bithlo Community Center, there's almost certainly a polling place closer than your favorite coffee shop.
Grab a valid, non-expired photo ID, and you're good to go.
Primary elections decide who even makes it onto the November ballot, yet they're the ones people skip most. The races for mayor and governor start here.
Don't be that person. Four days left.
👉 Here’s the list of all open precincts awaiting your arrival for early voting.
The Tastiest Six Weeks on Orlando's Calendar Are Here
Some cities have festivals. Orlando has six weeks of Magical Dining. Menus shrink to three indulgent courses, prices become surprisingly friendly, and that restaurant you've been eyeing for months? Finally happening.
Now in its 21st year, Visit Orlando's Magical Dining runs August 14th through September 30th: six weeks, six districts, and a record-smashing 180-plus restaurants at just $40 or $60 per person.
Every meal gives back, too. Each ticket generates a $1–$2 donation benefiting OCA (Opportunity, Community, Ability), plus six additional Orange County nonprofits.

Back to School, and AI Is Already in the Hallway
Central Florida students aren't the only ones headed back to class earlier this week, AI is grabbing a seat too, and districts are scrambling to decide exactly where it sits.
Orange County Public Schools just approved a new policy, built from 20,000 survey responses, that lets students use AI for background research but draws a hard line at submitting AI-generated work for a grade without written instructor permission. While Seminole County is offering full AI courses.
Not that students waited for the green light, in 2025, a Pew Research Center survey found 64% of U.S. teens already use AI chatbots for schoolwork.
Neuropsychologists warn that over-relying on it could shortchange the critical thinking skills still forming in young brains. However, learning to use AI wisely might just be the most important homework assignment of all.
